TerraNichol Academy of the Arts
Kindergarten School Blog Jan. 28th-February 1st, 2019
Our journey and wonder in learning labs this week.
This week step two of our pottery inspirational name plaques was concluded. We carefully glazed the lettering and stamp details that we put into our plaque during the molding and shaping of the piece. Miss Mary is going to put a special sealer on our plaques and they will have one more trip to the kiln before they are finished!
Every day we try to inspire our student's hearts with art! Whether it be through an art story journey, a discussion or song about an artist or a creative arts project. We truly believe that art not only inspires children but teaches them so much about diversity, acceptance, point of view, and culture. Our hopes are that parents will continue to share this with their children by visiting museums, borrowing art related books from the library or creating family art projects. Everyone's HEART needs a little ART!
Kindergarten students will continue to work towards individual goals highlighted in last week's blog. We will use blog as communication when adding new goals. Remember goals are to work towards and not expected to have immediate mastery. The students are working hard through appropriate Reggio Emilia inspired projects and materials to reach their goals.
February Story Journeys
As we have begun setting up learning labs and introducing new literature for February students are already beginning to express some interests. We encourage families to see if any of the story journey books are available at the library or maybe even order one of them from Amazon. Many of this month's books would make a great little gift to give in the month of LOVE!

A Sneak Peak into February's Learning Labs
Designing curriculum and setting the environment with projects and learning provocations is one of Miss Terra's passions. She enjoys this so very much instead of being stuck in the office with paperwork and emails. (sad face) . We are so grateful to have such a dedicated, creative and inspirational founder! 2019 Enrollment
Enrollment for 2019-2020 School Year
Based on many inquiries to the school about new enrollment and new families already securing their space in the program for 2019-2020 school year we will be sending out re-enrollment for our existing students and siblings early in February. Typically we do this in March but because of the volume of interest for next year, we will need to evaluate space in the program for new incoming students. Be on the watch for information coming out to all families in February 2019. This will include our Kindergarten and First Grade program.
Re-enrollment forms and Registration Fee submitted by the deadline will guarantee the student's space for the upcoming school year. If forms and registration fee is not submitted by the deadline we will assume you are forfeiting your space.

$350 spent in the school eco-friendly store per school year.

If the parent chooses to do both shopping off of Amazon Wish List/School Store and other Volunteer items the total cost percentage would be deducted from the $350 total. Every approximate $30 spent equals 1 volunteer hour.
