Important Teachers, Doing Good Things!
Mr. Paul Watson, Technology Teacher
College - BA from Augustana College and Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Teaching Career - Mr. Watson will complete his 40th year in education this year but he began his college education as a business major. Opportunities to interact with students stoked his passion for education. He began his teaching career as a 5th & 6th-grade elementary teacher and a technology TOSA in Wyoming. He moved to South Dakota where he worked for as a teacher for Starbase. Starbase is a government-funded program that supports goal setting in math, science, and technology for Title I School. Mr. Watson pursued his interest in technology eventually earning a Master Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Mr. Watson later moved to Omaha Public Schools to work. While at OPS, Mr. Watson has taught at several schools including King Science and Technology Center, Buffett Magnet School, Minne Lusa Elementary School and will conclude his teaching career at Marrs Magnet Center.
Most Memorable Teaching Moment - Mr. Watsons says there's not one memorable moment, but many when his student "Get It!" and make the connection with the learning.
Highlights - In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Watson coaches the Cross County Team. He finds it most satisfying watching his runners reach their own personal goals as athletes.
Hobbies - Reading: This summer Mr. Watson rekindled his love reading and over the summer read the collect by CJ Box
