Tuesday Tech Thoughts

Celebrate Digital Learning!

Digital Learning Day is a national celebration of integrating technology in your classroom. The website has great resources and lesson plans for how you can integrate tech into your day to day, and you can share your ideas with others. On Wednesday, February 17th, they're celebrating this idea that we work with daily, and giving prizes for folks who register and share their digital plans for that day. Consider joining in!

Custom candy hearts?

For all of you "I want to make it cute" folks out there: check out Cryptogram, which allows you to customize and create your own candy heart. Because it previews hearts from other creators, I think I'd keep this one in your toolbox (i.e. not for students), or have a class make them together, with you leading. Be creative!

Thinking about our mindset....

I know we had a lot of discussion about growth mindset at the start of the year, but I think we should continue to consider this idea. Growth mindset is a concept put out by Dr. Carol Dweck, author of "Mindset: The New Psychology of Success".

MindsetWorks has several surveys that you can use to assess the mindset of your students' motivational level, classroom, and school. These are evaluations for teachers to take, but there is also a great survey by PERTS which you can have your students complete. It will mail you a report for your classroom's mindset AND provide data to Stanford University, which is where Dr. Dweck did her research.
