The weather is making us all feel like it's summertime; don't get me wrong, I am not complaining! I love this Spring weather with gorgeous flowers all around us. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Please make sure your student comes to school with a water bottle which they can keep filled at their desk.
We had a lovely time at the Jr. Daffodil Parade on Saturday! Such a beautiful day and Holy Rosary did a great job, especially being our first-ever time participating. Good job Mr. Nolting and the Holy Rosary Band!
Fourth Grade is leading Mass on Thursday. Nancy and Gabriel will be doing the readings and Peter will be doing the petitions. Anthony and Jasmin Plancarte will be bringing the gifts and Chelsea and Daniel will be our ushers. Come out and join us! Also, be aware that mass will be starting at 8:30am instead of our usual time of 9:00.
We are started into our unit on Decimals, beginning with tenths, hundreths tomorrow, converting fractions to decimals, and vice versa. We'll be using money in our story problems, etc.
In Social Studies we are learning about the early peoples in Washington State; in particular this week, the Coastal Peoples. We are reading about the race to claim areas first, and about the Columbia River, our southern border.
Language Arts is focusing on pronouns and their antecedents. We have learned the difference between subject and object pronouns as well as reflexive and demonstrative. Phew! It's stretching us a bit! Comparing by using similes and metaphors is another current topic of study for us. Dialogue with your students about these things!
We are also enjoying our current "read-aloud, The Doll People.
Have a great night and week!
