Paying Final Respects with Dignity

At Crest Funeral Home, we arrange different types of funerals to meet individual needs. The main focus should always be on the wishes of the deceased. If the deceased did not express any clear wish while he or she was alive, we recommend that the relatives and other loved ones ask themselves the following questions when choosing the type of funeral:
  • What type of funeral would fit the life and personality of the deceased?
  • What effects will it have on how the loved ones will deal with their grief and their memories of the deceased?

We will meet with you personally to discuss these concerns.

Types of Funerals: Burial

Grave burial is one of the oldest and most traditional types of funerals. The deceased is placed in a casket and buried in either a single row plot or family grave site.

As a general rule, the deceased is buried in or near their hometown. Only in exceptional cases can a cemetery in another location be chosen.

Relatives and loved ones can always visit the grave whenever they feel the need, place flowers or other items there in memory of the deceased and be close to the departed.

Cremation can be performed with or without a funeral service. In this form of funeral, the deceased is cremated in a casket at a crematorium. The remaining ashes are stored in an urn and then handed over to a chosen cemetery for burial. The choices of burial sites range from an urn burial site, family grave site, mausoleum or anonymous urn burial plot.

Note: Cremation is only possible if the deceased gave written consent to cremation while he or she was still alive. If the deceased has not left a will indicating the type of funeral desired, a cremation can also be arranged by the next of kin.

Reflecting the Personality of the Deceased

The personality of the deceased and his or her loved ones has always been the top priority in our work. We would like to properly say goodbye to each deceased person. Therefore plan the decoration of the casket, all of the decorations in the funeral parlor in accordance with the deceased's wishes and as a reflection of his or her personality. We will help you select the casket or urn.

In close coordination with the relatives, we take care of:

  • Appropriately decorating the casket or urn with respect and dignity
  • The flower arrangements in the funeral parlor and at the grave
  • Candles placed on the flower arrangement, with your choice of candles and lights
  • Integration of the deceased's personal items into the decorations in the funeral parlor
