January Virtual Parent/Guardian Workshop
Please join CVUSD's BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation for "Healthy Screen Habits" virtual Parent/Guardian Workshop on Thursday, January 26th from 6:00-7:00 PM presented by Amy Adams, MSW, PPSC and Hillary Wilkinson, M.Ed. Through the lens of child development, this supportive and empowering presentation explores the intersection and impact of technology on developing minds and relationships. Tools and strategies will be introduced to create healthy screen habits for the whole family.
About our presenters:
Amy Adams, MSW, PPSC - Amy has a Master’s in Social Work from UCLA and is a credentialed school social worker. She has worked in elementary, middle, and high schools in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. She currently works for CVUSD providing counseling for students receiving special education services. Amy is a co-founder of the non- profit Healthy Screen Habits, and is passionate about helping families establish healthy digital habits. She has 4 school age children and understands first hand the complexities of navigating technology with children.
Hillary Wilkinson, M.Ed - Hillary holds a Master's of Education and teaching credential from UCSB. She is a co-founder of the non-profit Healthy Screen Habits and producer and host of the Healthy Screen Habits podcast. Before becoming a mom she enjoyed a career in primary education. Her background in motivational research and developmentally appropriate practice lead to many enjoyable years of working with the "under-tween" set. Hillary passionately believes in the power of parent education. Her philosophy of connecting with children through humor, empathy and love are pillars upon which she parents, instructs, and tries to cope with life!
