Celebrate with us at a Rivercats game!

As we enter the 8th week of this year's Season of Service we already have many stories worth celebrating! We are excited to announce to you that we will be concluding this year's Season of Service with a celebration held at Raley Field during a Rivercats Game on Friday, May 22nd. You are invited to come, hear and see videos of the various service events of the season, enjoy a great baseball game and the night will conclude with fireworks! And because we are all about service, there will be an opportunity for you to serve before the game by bringing in canned food items to donate to local foodbanks.

It's going to be a great time--we hope you can make it!

Stories of Service: Sierra Service Project's Sacramento Service Weekends

Sierra Service project mobilizes young people to serve all across the state and in Central America, and their headquarters are right here in Sacramento!

Over two weekends, January 16-18 and February 13-15, nearly one hundred volunteers gathered to serve the community of North Sacramento and put their faith into action. These groups were made up of mostly youth and came from multiple Episcopal and United Methodist Churches from throughout Northern California. Groups stayed overnight at North Sacramento UMC as part of Sierra Service Project’s Weekends of Service program. [read more]

upcoming service opportunity: Serve Every School

Serve Every School is a region wide youth initiative giving opportunity for students to engage their schools in a positive and practical way by simple acts of service. Groups of students will work with a campus champion to discover and meet a practical service need at their school with the guidance of school administration. Service projects will happen on many high school campuses and select middle school and college campuses in a 48 hour period on April 21st-22nd 2015.

We are still looking for youth pastors and leaders who are willing to champion a local school in their area. This is a great opportunity for churches and youth pastors to get their students involved with impacting the school they attend in a positive way!

For more information or to get involved, please contact Joshua Dunlap at (916)412-3688 or
