A grassland is a place with a lot of grass and plants and very few trees. Grasslands are a big place for farmers to plant the crops throw out the year.
History of Grasslands
There used to be tons of animals like buffalo, wolves, and deer. Grasslands have been covering 25 to 40 percents of the Earth. Grasslands used to cover up space all the way for the Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi River until the European settlement(Started in the early 1800s), where the western prairies converted it into a farmland.
Some Grasslands are located in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa

The Grassland national park is located in Saskatchewan, Canada. The whole area of the National park is 350.2 sq miles. It is one of the 44 national parks in Canada.
