Action Items
Please update the google form:
Non-Exempted Employees Reminder
- Non-Exempted employees are required to punch in and out daily at the beginning and end of your work day as well as during your designated lunch break. Be sure to take at least a 30 minute lunch break per day. You are entitled to take two 15 minute paid breaks a day.
People Managers Reminder
- People managers should approve time weekly. If clock in/out time is missing, please ensure that your staff submit a “Missed Punch Form”. The form is located on iShine under HR.
Reminder to All
- Due to creating strong internal controls, payroll checks are no longer delivered to the campus by courier service. All checks will be mailed to the address in TEAMS. Please take a moment to review your personal information in TEAMS.
How to Confirm your address in the TEAMS - Employee Service Center: (This where you want your checks, W2s, and any other correspondence from Uplift to be delivered.)
Log into TEAMS using your user name and password.
Select the “My Personal Information” link located on the left side of the screen.
Click on the “Address” tab.
Verify the address shown on the screen.
If you need to edit the information, click on the “Edit” button.
Make corrections and SAVE.
- Confirm the Direct Deposit (banking routing # and account #) information that’s located under the “My Payroll Information” tab. Be sure to keep your “End Check Date” open (blank) unless you are adding a new bank account.
Pay Cards. An alternative to direct deposit is payment by ADP pay card (There is a fee for usage.) For additional information, please contact the Payroll Dept. at Payroll@UpliftEducation.org

Holiday Benefits Service Center Hours
We know that Winter Break is an ideal time for many of our staff members to schedule doctor’s appointments, dental checkups, and vision screenings. If you have any benefits questions or issues during Winter Break, from usage questions, to ID card issues, to trouble locating a provider, the Benefits Service Center will be standing by to assist you! You can reach the Benefits Service Center at 1-855-507-1985.
PAYROLL DEPARTMENT
Winter Break Payroll Schedule
During Winter Break, pay day will continue to fall on the last business day of the month. Because Uplift will be closed on December 28, any employees who receive paper checks will receive a post-dated check prior to the start of Winter Break, but will not be able to cash or deposit this check until on or after December 28. Direct deposits will be delivered on December 28 as usual.
Because of our bank submission deadlines and Uplift’s Winter Break closure, we will not be able to accommodate adjustment checks for the 12/15 or 12/31 payrolls. To help ensure your check is accurate, please remember to clock in and out every day as usual, check your time in your TEAMS Employee Service Center regularly, and submit any missed punches immediately. Your 12/28 pay check stub will be available for review in your TEAMS Employee Service Center on December 20, 2018.
Action Required: 2018 W2s
Your 2018 W2 from Uplift Education will be available on (and postmarked!) January 31, 2019. As a reminder, you have two options for receiving your W2: mailed to your home address, or electronically on-demand.
What are the advantages of receiving your W2 electronically?
- You will be able to access and save or print your W2 as soon as we post them – you will not have to wait for mail delivery!
- You will always have access to your historical pay and W2 information, even if you are no longer employed with Uplift. All employees have access to their TEAMS ESC data during and after employment!
- You will save both paper and postage, ensuring we are using our resources effectively.
Opting-in to receiving your W2 electronically is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Login to your TEAMS Employee Service Center
- Click My Payroll Information > My W-2
- In the W-2 Print Options section, click the Edit button and confirm your request for electronic W2 delivery.
If you would like to continue to receive a mailed W2, please remember to confirm your mailing address. If you need to update your address, you can do so following the directions listed on the HR iShine Site, in the Most Requested Documents section (link: https://ishine.uplifteducation.org/cmo/HR/TEAMSDocumentation/How%20to%20-%20Updating%20Your%20Address%20in%20TEAMS.pdf)
Subject: Secondary Collab Day #2 Information – Please Share
To: Secondary Leaders and All Staff
From: CC Team
The following email contains details you should share with teachers before Collaboration Day #2 on Monday, January 7, 2019.
NEW Leader “Asks”
- Collab Day #2 is the Monday following a long and (hopefully) wonderful Winter Break. Please know that Collab Day #2 is significantly important for cohort collaboration around subject area priorities, RPAs, etc..
- To honor our winter break, our team will not be responding to e-mail from December 21-January 5. We have instructed CCs, CTLs, and DPFs to communicate any cohort-specific information via e-mail or Blackboard prior to break, so please remind your teachers to keep an eye out for communications from their respective teacher leaders. We will re-send out any last minute reminders or changes on Sunday, January 6.
- For many cohorts, the first round of RPAs will be submitted at the end of Q2. These subjects will have Collab Day learning experiences that may involve looking at scholar work for the purposes of norming on scores, gap analysis, or instructional planning. We all know that LASW is high-leverage instructional practice, but we also recognize that this practice may be new to some subjects or campuses. Please reiterate the purpose and intent of LASW with teachers so they can engage fully with a collaborative, growth-mindset.
Sign-In: 8:30 – 8:55 AM
Session Start: 9:00 AM; teachers must be in their designated rooms by the session start time.
Session End: 3:30 PM
Please arrive to Collab Day sites early to ensure teachers have ample time to park, sign-in, and transition to their rooms for the day. Sessions begin promptly at 9:00 AM so teachers who arrive to campus sites at that time will be late and miss valuable framing for the day’s work.

Collaboration Day #2 – Topic Matrix
The topics matrix and additional details about each topic (description, teacher prework, potential director follow-up, etc.) can be accessed here: Collab Day #2 link. Review the link carefully so you can plan appropriate follow-up when teachers return to campus. In the event you still have questions after reviewing the Google Sheet and prior to Collab Day, please reach out to the corresponding Secondary CC. Should you have questions about a topic covered after Collab Day, reach out to your teacher first then follow up with the corresponding Secondary CC if necessary.
Teacher Prework and Required Materials
Each content area will require somewhat different levels of pre-work from teachers. Please check-in with all of your teachers to make sure they have submitted, downloaded, and/or “packed” the appropriate materials. The list of required materials and pre-work is included in the Google Sheet and will be posted to subject specific Blackboard pages prior to Collab Day #2.
TLT Follow-Up
Active and positive participation as well as timeliness to sessions are critical to the day’s success. In the event these expectations are not met, a member of TLT will follow-up with individual campuses by Friday, January 11th.
If you have any questions or need support preparing for Collab Day #2, reach out to a member of the Curriculum Team.
Subject: New Locations for CA Dashboards
To: Academic Directors, Uplift Teachers
From: Trevor Harpin – Data Analyst
Dear Uplift Colleagues,
In order to improve load and response times on the Network Assessment Deep Dive dashboard, we have split the dashboard into two locations.
You will now find a Primary Network Assessment Deep Dive and a Secondary Network Assessment Deep Dive on your iShine data portal.
Please note that the old Network Assessment Deep Dive dashboard will be retired at the end of the month, but all data currently housed there will be carried over to the new locations.
Thank You!
