Summer PD Opportunities (free or opportunity for scholarship)
Ed Camp St. Charles (June 2)
The St. Charles R-VI School District is sponsoring an Edcamp! What is Edcamp you say? Well, Edcamp is an UNCONFERENCE where the participants decide on that day what sessions will be offered. Want to share an idea? Sign up to facilitate a session that day. Want to learn something new? Pick a session and be prepared to come away with tons of new ideas to use in the classroom. And the best thing is it's FREE!

K -12 Science teachers have the opportunity to participate in this FREE PD put on by STOM (Science Teacher of Missouri) this summer. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: I am so bummed that I'm going to miss this one - I hope someone from our elementary buildings may be able to attend. Adding it Up is four days of professional learning like you’ve never experienced before. Adding It Up STL will be fi lled with customized learning workshops, participant-driven sessions, and dynamic keynotes designed to help you grow your mathematical mind and add to your toolbox of teaching strategies. Robert Kaplinsky, Graham Fletcher, Sandy Finocchi, and Christopher Danielson will all be presenting these four days. While I am not able to pay stipend money for attendance, I am able to pay for ONLY TWO teachers' registration fees. If you are interested in attending on your own time over the summer, and would like your registration paid for, please contact Sherri Lorton for a scholarship application.

The American Society of civil engineers produced Dream Big: Engineering Our World to inspire America's youth to pursue careers in STEM/Engineering paths. This movie is now playing at the St. Louis Science Center.
"The film reveals that engineering has at its core far more than math and science; it is just as much about getting creative, about helping people and even carving out our human destiny."
