Important Dates to Remember!

MAP Assemblies MAP assemblies for grades 3-8 will be held next week, March 31. This is an opportunity to remind students of the importance of getting a good night's sleep before testing day and to eat a healthy breakfast to feed the brain and body! We want to encourage students to follow directions and do their Rocket best! | MAP Testing Ahead! Grades 3 - 8 will be taking Missouri's statewide assessments for Math, ELA, and Science in the month of April. Testing is scheduled to take place April 3 -5, April 11 - 13. Graduate Proofs & Order Forms
Graduation proofs arrived yesterday, March 30, and were distributed to classrooms. Be sure to check with your child to make sure they bring them home.
If you are returning order forms for Graduation pictures, be sure to return by April 14! There is currently no deadline if you order online.
Future Orders for Spring, Sports, & Graduation Pictures
Ordering Online
Cut off day for prepay is the day of pictures (March 22). Once the second chance proofs come back, then parents can order. Ordering online will not reopen until at least two weeks following March 22. Once a specific order code is assigned per child then they can order online for up to two years!!

8th Grade Graduation Slideshow

8th Grade Transition Meetings
As the end of the year is approaching, our 8th grade students will begin looking at their different high school options as they continue their education. School choices include Bakersfield, Dora, Koshkonong, West Plains, and Willow Springs. Mrs. Bryant will begin talking with 8th grade students to get the enrollment forms and information filled out for the school of choice. Drama Class Field Trip
Wednesday, April 12, all drama class students will go on a field trip to The Avenue Theater. Students will see the West Plains High School Zizzer Dramatics Theatrical Company performance of The Play That Goes Wrong. The production is free. Students are encouraged to bring money (approximately $5.00, if possible) to purchase concessions as our way of supporting the theater.
7th/8th grade drama class students will have lunch early, at 10:50 AM and board the bus at 11:10 AM. They will return to school at approximately 3:00 PM. Feel free to contact Mrs. Bunch with any questions.

Junior Art Club will meet Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 3:45 - 5:15 PM in the Richards Art Room. Contact Mrs. Bunch for more information.

Richards Student Places in Art Around Town!
Sixth grader, Gracelyn Young was awarded third place for her self-portrait in the 2-Dimensional Art category for fifth and sixth grade. Gracelyn was recognized for her achievement during an awards reception held Sunday, March 26 at the Civic Center Theater. Art Around Town is an annual event that features the work of student artists from schools in our area.
