BigFuture Virtual College Fair Days Announced
College Board will launch its inaugural BigFuture Days, a regional series of virtual college fairs for high school sophomores and juniors to help connect them with hundreds of colleges, admissions officers, and current college students. BigFuture Days are designed to give students a tailored experience so that they can establish connections with colleges and take action on important college planning tasks, like building a college list and identifying scholarships to apply for.
We want to make sure that students in Texas learn about and register to attend these free virtual college events. You will find the below flyer (in English and Spanish) about BigFuture Days that can be passed on to schools at this link BigFuture Days.
The SteppingStones to Student Success Manual
The THECB staff would like to share this free resource, The SteppingStones to Student Success Manual, which provides useful information for your students impacted by COVID-19. This resource manual is designed for students who need access to, and would benefit immediately from, services brought about as a result of the pandemic.
Manual Overview
Recognizing the needs of students negatively impacted by COVID-19, Catch the Next (a college readiness and completion non-profit organization committed to increasing equitable outcomes in higher education) has created The SteppingStones to Student Success Manual. Students can use this resource manual to find links to campus and community-based resources (e.g., emergency financial assistance, food bank, counseling/mental health resources, etc.).
The SteppingStones to Student Success Manual can be found at
