Let's Come Together and Learn!

Brain-Compatible Classrooms

This spring I took a class from ESU called Brain-Compatible Classrooms. I was inspired. This class brought to light many ideas and strategies that we have all heard about before, but somehow in our assessment heavy educational world we have forgotten what it takes to make an environment where all students can succeed regardless of what their learning level is. Come and learn how brain research can make our mission of teaching be so much easier.

Who am I?

Hi! My name is Marcia Helten. I am a PS/PK teacher and director of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium at St. Mary Catholic School in Derby. I am also the librarian and director of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium at Christ the King Catholic School in Wichita. I am a life-long learner. After taking a brain-compatible classrooms class from Emporia State University this spring, I thought it might be something that others would like to learn about. This class is free and will give us a chance to learn from one another. I hope you will be interested in joining me. Each gathering time will be decided by the group along the way.
