Classroom families in extreme need - please help!
Last week, two of our class families lost everything in a fire at their apartment building. Luckily all members of their families are safe, and uninjured, albeit temporarily homeless. They will need a lot of help and support to rebuild their lives, and I know that our classroom family can pitch in with donations to meet some of their short and long-term needs.
The first items needed are clothes for the children. The boy in our class wears size 10-12 clothes, and his shoe size is a medium 3. His baby brother (1 year old) wears 2T clothes. This family also needs 4/5 size diapers. The girl in our class wears size 7 pants, and size 6 tops and her little brother wears size 27. Don't forget about sleepwear and underwear. Both families also need non-perishable food.
Thank you in advance for helping our children, and families. I'll keep you updated as to any further needs. In the meantime, please drop any donations off in our classroom.
Old Technology needed!
Also, I am creating a "Take-apart" center for Choice Time where students use screwdrivers etc. to dismantle old tech. to see their components. If anyone has an old computer etc lying around we would love to have it in our classroom!

A Look at Our Week
I will be assessing their Math learning this week for the previous quarter. Please practice counting to 100 with them, and counting by 10s to 100. Thank you for all your support, I hope that you are enjoying finding creative ways to approach these tasks with your child. If you need some ideas/tips please email me: lindsay.fox@acsgmail.net
Due to the closure of the Computer Lab, I will be incorporating more iPad time into our regular classroom day. During Choice Time, one of your child's options will be to play on one of our educational apps on the tablet. We have coding, arts, math, and writing apps, and we'll be working one class projects using the video/photo capabilities soon. In addition to this, once a week your child can choose to listen to stories online during our Daily 5 session.
