Ms. Cameron's Newsletter ~ Quarter 3
Happy New Year!
I hope your family had a wonderful winter break and enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones! We're now officially half-way through the school year and teachers are working hard to ensure students are feeling connected and appropriately challenged in the classroom. This is the time of year I typically feel a shift in pace as academic responsibility increases and the finish line becomes visible.
On top of academic responsibilities, students have pursued character development by spreading kindness to both the school and local community. Our 5th grade students have shown heartfelt leadership this year by hosting a canned food drive, creating educational videos/posters demonstrating the value of caring for our building and each other, writing "Letters of Love" to local veterans and individuals with brain injuries at the Hilltop Residential Program, and delivering hand-made posters to local businesses with messages about the importance of donating blood. Way to go 5th Grade - I wonder what you'll accomplish during the second half of the year!
It has been a memorable year filled with unexpected twists and turns, but our amazing staff and students have adapted well. I know it's been a while since parents have been inside the building, however, if you could catch a glimpse, you would probably feel encouraged to notice the positive growth in your child's classroom. Despite everything, Chatfield is a resilient school!
