Porter, Marcelle & Dallas Compete At Golf State Championships; Porter Finishes 5th & Earns All-State Honors

Blake Porter, Dylan Marcelle, & Nathan Dallas competed at the MSHSAA State Championships at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club in Bolivar, Missouri on Monday and Tuesday this week. Congratulations to Blake Porter for finishing 5th overall and earning All-State Honors.

Pulcine & Jenkins Advance To Individual State Championships

Congratulations to Howell Tennis players Matt Pulcine and Joel Jenkins for advancing in doubles to the individual MSHSAA State Championships in Springfield, Missouri on Friday and Saturday. Good luck to Matt and Joel as they represent Howell at the State level this week!

Track Has A Great Day At State Sectionals

The Vikings traveled to Lutheran South for the Class 5 State Sectionals on Saturday and came away with several State Qualifiers that will advance to the State Championships next Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City. Below you can find the state qualifiers from Saturday along with their finish at State Sectionals. Good luck to all of our State Qualifiers!

Baseball Wins District Championship

Congratulations to the baseball program for winning the Class 5 District 8 Championship. The Vikings knocked off Timberland 6-2 on Friday night to claim the title. With the

win the Vikings moved to 26-8 on the season. The Vikings will host FZN on Tuesday in the State Sectionals at 4 p.m. We hope to see all Viking fans in blue and gold on Tuesday night at the H as the baseball program looks to advance to the State Quarterfinals.

Baseball To Host State Sectional Game

The Vikings will host the State Sectional baseball game on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Francis Howell High School as they take on Fort Zumwalt North. This is

a MSHSAA

state game so admission to the game will be $6. No passes are allowed for the state game. Below you can find a map of the entrance for baseball parking on Tuesday. Please note there will only be one entrance to park for baseball on Tuesday. It is recommended that fans arrive early to avoid lines and to also obtain a seat. The gate will open at 2:45 p.m. for the game. A very large crowd is anticipated for this Sectional game. We hope to see all Viking fans in blue and gold on Tuesday!

Walker Wetter Named Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete

Congratulations to Francis Howell senior Walker Wetter for being named a Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete. Walker currently ranks 6th in the senior class and has been a state qualifier in both cross country and track this season. Congratulations to Walker for not only having success in sport but also in the classroom.

Morgan Harrington Named Next Head Girls Basketball Coach

Howell would like to welcome Morgan Harrington to the Howell family as she takes over as head girls basketball coach. Coach Harrington was a standout basketball player at Missouri State University and Lindenwood University. She spent two seasons as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Murray State University and has spent the past two years as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Lindenwood University.

Coach Carlson Takes Over As Head Cross Country Coach

Coach Tracy Carlson has been named the next head cross country coach at Francis Howell High School. Coach Carlson has been an assistant within the cross country program for seven years at FHHS. She is also the head boys tennis coach and an assistant within the girls basketball program. Coach Carlson has completed filling out her staff for the 2016-17 season which will have Coach Dane Williamson returning and the addition of Coach Kyle Deeken to the staff.

Viking fans will be excited with a new edition to the cross country schedule that was announced earlier in the week. Francis Howell High School is teaming up with Maryville University to offer the Maryville University XC Open at Six Flags. College programs from throughout the midwest will run in the meet prior to 30 high schools participating in the high school division on September 17th. We look forward to seeing you support our Vikings at Six Flags in September!

Howell Track Names New Head Boys & Girls Track Coaches

Francis Howell High School is excited to announce several additions to its Cross Country and Track programs. As we head into the 16-17 school year the track and cross country programs will take on a new look, increase expectations, and will provide a greater emphasis on competing and having success at the state and national level. Please help us welcome the following new head coaches:

Girls Track
FHHS has named Kyle Deeken as it’s new head girls track coach. Kyle was previously an assistant within the track program at Howell. Kyle was a standout at Maryville University as a member of the Cross Country and Track programs.

Boys Track
FHHS has named Dane Williamson as its next head boys track coach. Coach Williamson took over as interim head track coach this season and has been an assistant within the program for 3 years.

Coach Deeken and Coach Williamson are currently in the process of filling their staff’s for the 16-17 season. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding the track staff for next season.

Cross Country
FHHS has named Tracy Carlson as it’s new head cross country coach. Tracy Carlson has been an assistant cross country coach for 7 years at FHHS. Tracy is also the head boys tennis coach and an assistant within the girls basketball program.

FHHS has named Kyle Deeken as an assistant coach within the cross country program. This will be Coach Deeken’s first year in the FHHS Cross Country program.

Boys Tennis Season Comes To End At State Sectionals

Congratulations to the boys tennis program for a great season. The Vikings took on CBC on Saturday in the State Sectionals and fell to the Cadets. The boys tennis program finished the regular season undefeated and won both conference and district championships on their way to the State Sectionals. Congratulations again to a great group of young men that represented Howell well all season.

Boys Volleyball Falls In State Quarterfinals

The Boys Volleyball program ended their season at 22-13-2 on Monday night in the State Quarterfinals after a hard fought match with Lafayette. The boys program finished the season by winning 10 of their last 13 games. Congratulations to the boys volleyball program for a great 2016 season and thank you seniors for the great memories.
