The Abolition Movement
American abolition movement as being a precursor to the Civil War and culminating in the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing American slaves. However, abolition and emancipation were very different things. While abolition involved mobilizing for or against the continuation of slavery, emancipation was concerned with the socioeconomic impact of abolition. Today there are no abolition movement for slavery because there is no need for them. The government and u.s citizens know that slavery isn't coming back because it would be unconstitutional

The women and men are treated equally and they can vote. They can go out in the community for the first time without staying inside. They can get good jobs and get a lot money and they don't have to always stay inside and clean and take care of their family
