Gingerbread Love
Reading, writing, and hunting
Gingerbread Story Map
We enjoyed reading different versions of the Gingerbread Man all week. We used these texts to identify characters, setting, problems, solutions, and repetitive phrases.
Comparison
We also compared the Gingerbread Man to the Gingerbread Girl. This was a great start to identifying likeness and differences in characters.
Opinion Writing
This was our 2nd attempt at opinion writing. Learners chose which gingerbread story was their favorite. The expectation is to include:
- the main idea
- reasons to support the opinion
- a conclusion
We began with a planning piece to help us organize our thoughts. Then, we transferred the final product to the final product.
A Surprise Mystery Reader
Thanks to Henley's mom for finishing off our last version of the Gingerbread Man. She read the Gingerbread Cowboy. Then, we made our own Gingerbread Man. What do you think happened? HE JUMPED OUT OF THE OVEN!!! And the hunt began.
Decorated and going in the oven
We found a clue
We found him!!! and ate him!!!
Writing our own version
On Friday, we wrote our very own version of the Gingerbread Man. The learners were so excited to share their versions. They worked really hard and would have written most of the day.
