Term 2 Week 10 - 8 July 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Tena Koutou, Talofa, Namaste, Hello and Greetings
Wow, what a talented school we have. How great was Cinderella Rockerfella!!!
I truly hoped that you enjoyed the show and appreciate all the time, energy and effort that the students put into this show. We are very lucky to have Wes Gentle support our productions and he is extremely good at bringing out the talent in the students he works with. Tino pai East Gore School, it was a proud moment to see it all come together on the stage.
There are a couple of changes happening at East Gore next term. As I mentioned earlier this term, I am on sabbatical for the term and Sarah will be Acting Principal at this time. I will be returning in Term 4. I know the school is in great hands while I am away.
It is with great sadness that I announce that Mrs Heaps (Leah) has accepted a new position at the Oxford Street Kindergarten and will be leaving us at the end of week 2 (next term). Leah has worked at East Gore for a number of years and is well known for her New Entrants teaching across the Gore District. Leah has given those students who have entered the school the best start to their schooling and has always welcomed everyone with a smile . We wish you all the best with your next step Leah.
We are lucky to have appointed Miss Riley Kaio to teach for the remainder of the year, she is currently teaching in a Year 1 classroom at Whenuapai School (Auckland) so has all the skills and abilities suited to teaching Room Kauri. Riley visited the school last Friday and is excited to be joining us in Room Kauri for the remainder of the year.
Room Rimu will have a new teacher next term, Miss Ally Gutsell. She is a new graduate to teaching and has spent time relieving across schools to gain experience. We are lucky to have Ally join us in Term 3 and I know Room Rimu will enjoy their time with her. Sarah will be working closely alongside Ally to ensure a smooth transition.
I hope that everyone takes the time to rest, relax and recharge over the holidays. The staff are hoping for less interruptions with winter bugs next term. See you back here on Monday 25 July.
Kia pai to hararei (have a great holiday).
