Flood's Flash

After what seems like forever, we are so excited to welcome back our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders next week, with the hybrid learning format! While it has been wonderful being with K-3rd grades, our SVE family just hasn't been complete without our older students here. Again, thank you for all of the support and kindness that has been shown throughout this first phase of school. We are so thankful for our families!

Message from the district--

LSR7 will transition to a hybrid learning model for grades 4-12 starting on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020. Pre-K-3 as well as special programs and other groups who have received in-person services since Sept. 8, will continue full-time in-person instruction, and R-7 Online Academy students will continue to participate in online learning at home five-days-a-week.

  • Students with the last names A-K will be in group A. Group A will attend school in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays, and engage in teacher-planned lessons and independent assignments virtually on Thursdays and Fridays. This means the first day of in-person learning for Group A is Monday, Oct. 5.
  • Students with the last names L-Z will be in group B. Group B will attend school in-person on Thursdays and Fridays and engage in teacher-planned lessons and independent assignments virtually on Mondays and Tuesdays. This means the first day of in-person learning for Group B is Thursday, Oct. 8.
  • On Wednesdays, all students will also learn virtually and have the opportunity to engage with their teachers through group check-ins, office hours and individual meetings. Staff will also use Wednesdays as planning and collaboration time, and buildings will receive extra-cleaning and sanitization on Wednesdays.
  • Students at the same address will be grouped by the last name of the oldest child.
  • Our SVE 4-6th grade teachers have emailed families with information regarding which students are assigned to attend M/T and which are assigned to attend Th/F in person days. Please contact us if you have questions!

Roadmap to Reopening

A few notes on protocols and health guidelines for LSR7

* Staff and students wear masks at all times unless we are taking a mask break while socially distanced.

* Students will hand wash and/or sanitize hands each time they leave and enter a new space. Ex: from classroom to art, from PE to recess, from classroom to lunch, etc. . .

* Classroom desks/tables will be sanitized each time students eat breakfast.

* Students will maintain consistent seating charts in classrooms, at lunch, in special class and students will have assigned line orders. These practices will help us should we need to contact trace.

* The schedule has been build with extra time in between recesses and special class so equipment and materials can be cleaned.
