Google Forms Gets a Cool Update!

Ever have students create work samples that get stored on their own student devices? Getting work samples to the teacher so they can be scored can get a little messy. Now with this update to Google Forms, students can upload files directly into their form submission. Here's how:

Getting Started. . .

  1. Log into Drive
  2. Click New -- Form
  3. After naming the form, create a question.
  4. From the dropdown menu, choose File upload (See Image 1)

Next . . .

5. Click Continue (See Image 2)

6. Choose Settings

  • Maximum file size - 1 MB, 10 MB, 100 MB, 1 GB, or 1 GB (See Image 3)
  • File types: Leave as all or select the file types you wish to allow (See Image 4).
  • Should this question be required?

Finally, Student View. . .

Once students locate the form (from the Google Classroom Stream, for example), they click ADD FILE, select work sample, then click Select. Finally, after clicking submit, the file is sent to the teacher's Drive. (See Image 5)
