Health Protocols Update
As illnesses evolve, so does our district's protocols to addressing them. Many of us are weary and tired of hearing the seemingly incessant news about COVID. However, this illness is still affecting our community. I want to encourage you all to continue to self-monitor for symptoms, hand wash thoroughly, and use other precautionary measures. The newer variants seem to be much more contagious than earlier variants. Several families have asked recently about our current protocols. The most recent protocols from the district can be found at this link: https://www.misd.org/return_to_school_plan
All students should continue to do a daily self-evaluation prior to coming to school or boarding school transportation. Visitors to campus will be required to answer the health screener questions prior to coming to school. Symptoms to screen for include: fever equal or over 100.0 degrees, loss of taste or smell, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, fatigue, headache, chills, sore throat, shaking or exaggerated shivering, significant muscle pain or ache, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting. Masks are optional for all visitors, staff, and students.
As a reminder, please exercise personal responsibility as it relates to self-screening, personal health and ensuring the health of those around you. If you or your child are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please stay home.

- Doors open at 7:50
- Tardy bell rings at 8:15
- School day ends at 3:40
We are working hard to maximize each and every minute our students are here. Students who arrive after 8:15 are considered tardy and will need to be walked into the front door of the building and signed in by a parent or guardian. If your child needs to leave early, they may be checked out through the front office by a parent or guardian.
Changes in transportation need to be made prior to 2:00 in order to allow time for the messages to be communicated with the appropriate staff member. To request a change of transportation, either
- Send a note with your child,
- Email LincolnElementaryTransit@misd.org with the note and a copy of your driver's license, or
- Come to the school with a copy of your driver's license.
