Second Six Weeks Parent Newsletter
2022-2023
PJHS Mission Statement
Note from the Principal- Jennifer Garcia
Dear Parents,
The beginning of the third six weeks is upon us. We will be distributing report cards to students to take home on Friday, November 4. This report card will determine eligibility for our students who compete in Athletics and UIL Band contests. Students who are ineligible can gain back eligibility with their third six weeks progress report that will be sent home November 18.
Please continue to help your child stay organized. We will begin conducting backpack clean-outs on a regular basis due to the overwhelming amount of unnecessary items in students' backpacks. Also, if your child loses a bag, we ask they do the following:
1) Look for the bag
2) Report the bag missing to an adult staff member
3) Check the Lost and Found
If their bag cannot be located, please tell them to report to the office. If students wait until they get home to tell an adult, an investigation cannot probably be conducted.
We cherish our students and their families. Please stay safe and please contact us if you or your child need assistance. If we can't help you, we will direct you to someone who can.

Parent Responsibilities for Student Success
We ask that parents assist in your child's safety and success by:
1) enforcing a regular bedtime, as well as completing unfinished classwork;
2) updating your registration and contact information through the Registration Portal so we can quickly contact you in case of an emergency;
3) reminding your child to bring their Chromebook fully charged each day; and
4) monitoring your child's grades and attendance through the Parent Portal on a regular basis;
5) contacting the teacher first if a challenge or problem arises;
6) reviewing bus rules and expectations for our bus riders.
We had an excellent time during Homecoming Week!
