Meet Our Newest Bridle Ridge Family Members
Miss Bailey Hiatt, Special Services
I am so excited to join the Bridle Ridge Family this fall! As my journey at Northwest Missouri State University is wrapping up, I will be graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education this December. I am from Weston, Missouri and plan to continue to live there throughout the school year.
My passion for kids and learning is what led me to become an educator. I am the teacher who believes that every child can succeed in the classroom, regardless of challenges that may arise. I can’t wait to start my first year! Go Mustangs!
Mrs. Peggy Jones, 2nd Grade
Most of my public school teaching was spent in Osage County teaching fourth grade. Most recently, my experience has been at St. James School in Liberty. I have lived in Pekin, Illinois and the following places in Missouri: Kirksville, Liberty, Jefferson City, Kansas City, and Raymore. I have 2 children, Jakob and Erynn and I enjoy reading, writing, and listening to music. I am excited to join the Ray-Pec team to help educate our youth and serve our community.
Mrs. Alex Tompkins, 1st Grade
In 2015, I graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Master's degree in Literacy Education. I am married to my wonderful husband and high school sweet heart, Michael. We welcomed out first child into the world in October! Her name is Adley. We also have two fur-babies, Chance and Shadow.
I am ecstatic to be coming to work at Bridle Ridge next year as a first grade teacher!
Mr. Kevin Pluss, Special Services
Hello Bridle Ridge! I have my BA in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh, M.Ed in Special Education from UMSL, and my Ed.S from UCM in Special Education Administration. I was admitted to KU to pursue an Ed.D in Educational Leadership and am beginning this Fall.
I grew up outside of Chicago and previously worked at a non-profit for people impacted by HIV/AIDS, worked in the Kansas City Public Schools and Center School District teaching Special Education at both Elementary and High School levels. I love to travel, see movies, play/watch sports, and read.
Mrs. Sherrie Goodwin, Special Services
Hi Mustangs, I'm thrilled to be joining the Bridle Ridge Family as a SpEd Teacher. I just recently completed my master's degree through Grand Canyon University and am looking forward to my new role at Bridle Ridge. I am not new to Special Education and I've spent four years at Raymore Elementary as a paraprofessional and loved the kiddos and amazing teachers and staff I worked with there. I look forward to getting to know everyone at Bridle Ridge and am sure I will love THIS family as much as my Raymore family.
I live in Freeman with my husband and granddaughters, Isis (7) & Ziona (4). We love playing board games, spending time outdoors, camping, gardening, riding 4 wheelers, and taking care of our 13 chickens, one dog, and one cat. In my free time, I like reading, antiquing, and crafting. I'm always in search of an item to repurpose into something unique! Can't wait to meet you!
MAP & NWEA testing
All students also finished NWEA testing May 13th-24th!
Late Bus Procedure...Do You Know It?

School Family Shout Outs!
Many people may not know that Mrs. Jackson rides the school bus home everyday (and happily!) so kiddos can have a safe and successful trip. She lends students her frontal lobe to help them work through problems on the bus, reminds them of strategies and brings along fidgets and a wide range of "tools" in her brain to help kiddos regulate. So impressed by you Sami!
When Ms. Pfaff had her student teacher take over, Ms. Pfaff would answer walkie calls, practice with students, respond to needs for help, cover other classroom and just generally showed her commitment to helping out her school family!
Mrs. Gutierrez has charted her assessments data for a two year period and has been reflecting upon what strategies have worked in the past, this year and what she can replicate in the future.
Mrs. Davey has been answering walkie calls often and pushing herself outside her comfort zone to support students, thank you!
Mrs. Garrison is always ready to lend a strategy. She is always positive and works so hard at doing an awesome job. -Mrs. Gonzales
Nurse LaDona is always so kind to our students and patient with the staff. Especially those of us who send students without nurse's passes. Her emails are always so kind instead of saying, "Hey, Teachers, How many times do I have to tell you? Write out a pass!!!!" -Mrs. Gonzales
Mrs. Wilke always answers my emails right away to locate a book. -Mrs. Gonzales
The 3rd/4th grade team of ladies has welcomed me into their pod with open arms this school year. From simple early “Good Mornings” to late after hours laugh sessions, I have felt completely at home with these awesome coworkers!! -Mrs. Weaver
Mrs. Welch has been very self reflective and honest about owning her data. She is already thinking ahead to the strategies and structures she will use next year to promote success of her students.
Although Mrs. Peck does not teach ELA/reading as her 5th grade content, she is always curious about the students' reading performance and steps in to help develop skills where she can or help with assessing students when needed. Even during SAT collaboration she plays an active roll. -Mrs. Garrison
Mrs. Rodick is always prepared for data and strategy meetings. She fill in information prior to the meetings and is detailed in the information she provides. It's always a pleasure to meet with the whole second grade team in general. -Mrs. Garrison
Mrs. Morris comes to ask questions and discuss concerns / celebrations regularly. She reads forms carefully and completes all steps of a task consistently and reliably. -Mrs. Garrison
Mrs. Browning communicates with me frequently about her student's progress with their independent reading levels. There has been a lot of celebrating. -Mrs. Garrison
Mrs. Allen did so much work to appreciate teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. I was grateful for all the fun and after school social activity. She also answers lots of questions I have about ordering, how to call on the intercom, where to locate items, etc. -Mrs. Garrison
Mr. Mark comes in early to spend time with our students. He has worked to form some lasting and meaningful connections. -Mrs. Garrison
Mrs. Jackson always takes the reins in Compass and we know everyone will stay on schedule, even when things get a little wild! Thank you for everything you do! -Mrs. Behning
Mrs. Flores is always not only helping anytime we need you but you keep our rooms so clean and our data up to date! That is so helpful!!! Thank you!!! -Mrs. Behning
Mrs. Welch is always so kind to me. She has such a sweet spirit even on the tough days. -Ms. Rachel
Ms. Pfaff and Mr. D. both work really hard to make engaging lessons for all learners and provide all students with opportunities to be successful. -Coach Cronk
Ms. Schulze is always willing to drop what she is doing to help a student or staff member in need. She knows everyone's stories and goes above and beyond her job to help everyone feel listened to and heard. She has an open mindset and works tirelessly to solve problems.
Mrs. Weaver always reaches out to others in our building to say hello or ask how they are doing (not just our pod). -Mrs. Morris
Mrs. Marolt always checks on me and makes sure I am dong okay and asks if she can help me with anything. -Mrs. Morris
Mrs. Rice worked so hard to plan fun STEM challenges for our Kindergarteners. -Mrs. Gutierrez
Mrs. Jackson goes above and beyond every, single day. She has been teaching in our classroom and doing an AMAZING job. We are so proud of her! -Mrs. Brown
Mrs. Flores helps our team so much. She enters ALL of our data and keeps us organized. She is also the best at cleaning up messes and keeping our classroom clean! :). -Mrs. Brown
Ms. Sommerville is always there to help and staying cool as a cucumber.
Mrs. Baldwin is always being available for our friends and staff. You're a super star.
Mrs. Morris never hesitates to pick up the phone to call parents and understands that the value of voice-to-voice conversations outweigh an email or SeeSaw text. Even though phone calls take time and can create anxiety within us as adults, she puts what's best for her relationships with parents first and picks up the phone.
