"Power of Choice" Newsletter Snippet (October 2019)

Parents of Middle School Students: Take a minute to support your child in avoiding alcohol and other substance use through October's 1 Minute PSA - from The Power of Choice.

Grab a snack, a healthy drink and settle in for a family chat using October’s PowerTalk for Families: Our Family Portrait. This year, the theme for the Power of Choice is “I CAN.” We will be looking to develop and build resilience in our students as individuals and in their families. Resilience is the ability of an individual to overcome challenges of all kinds–trauma, tragedy, personal crises, ordinary life problems–and bounce back stronger, wiser, and more personally powerful. You can use the skills you already have and find ways to use those skills more intentionally. Start this year of “I CAN” family activities with a picture of your family.
