We still need your help!

Dear HES families,

We are excited for the chance to bring back our Harvest Dinner. It is scheduled for 5:00 PM on September 27th. If you have not had a chance and can please follow this link to our Sign-up Genius where you can find opportunities to provide items or volunteer your time. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d45adaa2fa6fd0-harvest

We are also looking for parent volunteers to help us with our recycling. We need a volunteer to pick up the recycling every other week on Friday. Please call the HES office if you are interested in helping out.

The Lions Club vision screening will be on Monday, September 26th at 9:00 for those that have opted in.

Happy almost Fall !!

Counselor's Corner

Hello Hancock families! I am so happy to be back at HES this year. For the past two weeks I have spent time doing “Minute Meetings” with our students. These minute meetings have allowed me to spend about five minutes speaking with every student individually to get to know them a little better. We talked about school, home, friends, and feelings. These meetings helped me to identify students who may need some additional support from me as well as what topics may be beneficial to include in my classroom lessons which will begin next week! I’m looking forward to spending more time with your children this year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

-Vanessa Lofstedt, School Counselor

Greetings from First Friends Preschool!

For the past couple of weeks, we have been busy bees practicing our classroom routines to “bee” safe, “bee” friendly and “bee”a worker. Singing “Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?” is helping us to learn our friends’ names! We are also sharing about our families and our favorite things to connect with one another. The children are having so much fun exploring our classroom learning centers! Letters are coming alive with Letterland! We are exploring apples for letter Aa and butterflies and bats for letter Bb. We are looking forward to an exciting year!

Kindergarten Happenings

Kindergarten is settling into lots of new routines! We have been focused on our number one kindergarten rule, above all be kind. We have read lots of books looking for kind characters and helping those that may not be in the green zone with problem solving suggestions. Ask your little one about the zones of regulation and how we do our best learning. We have jumped right into American Sign Language and practiced about 15 words already! As always I am thankful to be a part of your child's educational journey and look forward to socializing with HES families at the Harvest Dinner!
