Bridging the Gap

Bridges of Pinedale High School, as we approach the holidays, our tanks and the tanks of those we serve are running on fumes. Have faith, we can collapse in only seven school days-that is how many days are left until Thanksgiving Break! In the meantime, I know that you will continue to be those bridges that our students so desperately need academically, socially, and emotionally. With your guidance, skills, and rigor our PHS students will undoubtedly be able to build those bridges to their future dreams, for that, I thank you!

Contributors from a distance
The students on both sides are engaged and actually contribute to the debater real-time via a shared Google Doc
Classroom Spotlight - Deckert's Debates
Arguing with Technology
After reading two sides of the controversial issue of animal testing, students in Mrs. Brunski-Deckert's English 10 class debated the topic. Debates were organized in groups with each member of the group playing a specific role and having a specific part to fulfill. Student engagement was very high throughout the activity, and it what was an interesting twist on this classroom activity, real time prompts were used to assist speakers who had the floor via Google Docs. Ask Mrs. Brunski-Deckert more about this creative spin on the traditional debate.
