Important Information for You!
Field Day
What an AWESOME Day! Huge shout out to Roy for getting everything together and set up, Jim for his help with the mowing of the field, and Anna for all the behind the scenes paperwork...excellent work! The weather was prefect and everyone I talked with, students, parents, and staff alike, talked about how much fun they had. Thanks to the staff for helping in whatever was needed! Great team effort with great results! BRAVO!!!!!
Five Days to Go...
I truly can not believe how fast this year has gone by. As we enter the last week of school, help you kids be successful by keeping normal routines going, even if the activities are a little different. Kids thrive on structure and routines and 'doing' things. I look forward to seeing what creative things you do with them this lat week. Let’s make this last week the best week of the school year!
Staff Luncheon
You are cordially invited to attend the End of Year Staff Luncheon at Hahn on Thursday, June 20th at 12:15 p.m. Many of our teachers have been nominated for Teacher of the Year, DEF grants will be awarded, and Lori's retirement will be recognized. Come enjoy lunch, celebrate retirees, cheer for your colleagues and enjoy a fun afternoon.
Traveling Library
As I have shared, I am very excited that the Traveling Library is going DISTRICT-WIDE this year! Each building will get to host one day on the bus! Thomson l is scheduled to go out on Wednesday, July 10th! I will be traveling with the bus and invite any and all of our Thomson family to join us for a fun-filled Thomson book tour! The bus tour will take place from approximately 1-4 p.m. Thank you to those staff members who have already volunteered!
Staffing Changes & News
While I have known for a few weeks, last week Anna Pauiseau gave me her official resignation letter. Anna has loved working with each of you, but now that her youngest son has graduated she would like to spend more time with her family and be able to help her mother. This was scheduled to be Anna's last week, but sadly her stepdad passed away this weekend and I do not anticipate her being in this week. We will have a card in the office for all of you to sign acknowledging her hard work and dedication to Thomson over the last seven years. Once I know arrangements for her stepdad, I will let you all know.
On Friday, Lacey Benton accepted one of the Kindergarten Teaching positions that we currently have open. Lacey comes to us with seven years of elementary experience, most recently teaching first grade in Swartz Creek. I am hoping to have Lacey stop by sometime this week to tour the building and meet some staff. Please join me in welcoming her to our Thomson Family!
Please watch your email for other staffing updates as they are officially made.
Big Ticket Item Wishlists
Please don't forget to get those 'Big Ticket' wishlists into me by the end of the week.
Quotes Worth Reading
No quote this week...
However, I hope you all know how much I appreciate all that each of you do everyday. The work we do can sometimes be extremely challenging, answers difficult to find, and be physically and emotionally draining, but I hope you all are able to reflect and say to yourself 'it is worth it'. The work that you do, the children you reach, and the lives you change are nothing short of amazing. I hope the upcoming summer gives you time to reflect, recharge, and return in the fall ready to continue your legacy!
Thank you for another amazing year!

Tuesday, June 18th-Staff Evaluation Day, a sub request has been put in for rotating evaluation delivery. This helps ensure that staff are not 'in the way' as Jim and his help work to get the building clean for the upcoming school year...something that is every important to all of us!
