Principal's Corner

Teach your child to prepare some healthful snacks. Together, look through your cookbooks, or check out a children's cookbook from the library. This a good time to talk with your child about taking responsibility for eating healthy foods. Teach your child that snack foods an east food and be good for you. Popcorn with cheese, fresh fruit or vegetables and dip are all tasty and nutritious. Show your child how to handle kitchen equipment safely to prepare the snacks he/she has chosen. Supervise when your child is working in the kitchen. Once your child has mastered some basic cooking skills, let him/her choose some of the snack foods you keep on hand.
