Good Evening Pershing Families,

It is hard to believe, but we are down to the final three and a half weeks of the 2019-2020 school year. Our Pershing team is amazed at the level of participation and learning our students continue to demonstrate! Thank you, Pershing Parents, for your great partnership, communication and perseverance in supporting your children as we all engage in learning together how to teach and learn from home. We know it has not been easy! For anyone who still needs help and assistance as we wrap up the year, we have staff available to help you.

We are not sure, yet, what next fall will look like at school, but I want to assure you that the leaders at San Juan Unified School District are working very hard to explore options that will prioritize student safety, staff safety, and provide families with choices. I am proud to work with leaders who strive to consider student and family needs first, and actively partners with our various labor groups to make plans that are safe for staff and maintain fiscal responsibility. Please keep checking your email for updates from San Juan Unified School District. Also, consider following the District on Facebook and/or Twitter to stay most up to date. When I have more specific details that I can share out, I will send out an update.

Very soon, we hope to have information to share about yearbook distribution, purchase of the remaining yearbooks, Chromebook return, process to return textbooks and library books, and the process for students to pick-up personal items from classrooms. We are working on finalizing a date, schedule and directions for families soon. Please continue to read our updates and email any questions you have to me (kendra.shelton@sanjuan.edu).

The Pershing staff all really miss our students very much. The team created these two photo collage messages for our students. (A big than you to Miss Ott for putting the message together!) Please share our message with your child and family!

Stay healthy and safe!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kendra Shelton

Principal
