Monday Memo

December 8th - 12th

Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words bring a smile, lift and inspire. - Unknown

Dear Team,

I apologize for the late delivery of the newsletter. Today was filled with church, decorating Dad's house for Christmas, raking the leaves in his yard and welcoming house guests WAY earlier than expected. (YIKES!!!) 'Tis the season…

This week, as their gift to the staff, PTA will be wrapping gifts for us. If you plan to take advantage of this service, please make sure that your gifts are properly packed in boxes and a form is completely filled out so that the volunteers can work most efficiently. In addition, please be sure to thank the PTA for this service. At this time of year, the gift of time is one of the greatest gifts anyone could give. I know that they would appreciate hearing that from you.

We are having a Team Leader Meeting today after school. If you would like to add a topic to the agenda, please click on the link to add the discussion point.

Make today count!

Miss Irma

Each year, we collect money to present to Miss Irma as a Christmas gift that reflects our gratitude for all that she does as well as a small token of our deepest love and respect for someone who represents the heart of McGowen. If you would like to contribute to this gift, Donna has an envelope in her office. We will collect donations until Wednesday, December 17th.

Volunteers During After School Duty

If you would like to volunteer to help support our positive behavior notes during dismissal, please click on the link below. A jeans pass will be issued for each volunteer slot that you sign up to serve. Please note that if you are already scheduled to that location as a duty, it would not be appropriate to volunteer for a position the same time you have duty.
While some of these tools many of us use on a regular basis, Graphite, Blubbr, Bringit, Emaze and Keepvid seem worth exploring. The title above will link you to the article. Let me know what you think.

Warm-Up Wednesdays in January

Each January, we sell Warm-Up Wednesday passes to benefit Special Olympics. The passes are sold for five dollars each. These passes are only good during the month of January. If you would like to purchase a pass, you make buy the from Donna.

Remind for Staff

I have created a Remind for our staff in order to send out just-in-time reminders, last minute notifications of jeans/warm-up days, and/or emergency info. If you haven't already, please click on the link below to join the group.

For a printable version of the calendar, please click on the "Calendar" title above.

While I know that many of you may already have your favorite app for this purpose, the title above is a link to apps you may not have tried yet. If you end up trying one and liking it, please let me know. In effort to work smarter rather than harder, I'd love to share your thoughts and ideas with everyone.
