Your Tweetcher for the week of 2/10 is.....Christy Curtis
Christy is friends with CSD alum, and KMBC 9 News reporter, Matt Evans and encouraged him to visit our district. Mr. Evans took her up on that offer and visited Henry Elementary to showcase the excitement surrounding the Chiefs Super Bowl appearance.
Thanks Christy for helping us get our Cardinal story out beyond the district!

Snow Day Make-Ups
Due to the 2019-2020 Clinton School District school year calendar having additional hours built into it, the 6 1/2 snow days we have accumulated this school year do not have to be made-up.
Any additional snow days must be made-up. This can be done by adding additional minutes to the school day or by adding days to the end of the calendar. If the district accumulates additional snow days, we will communicate our plan at that time.
As of today, the last day of school for the 2019-2020 school year is May 15th.
Info from UCM
The University of Central Missouri is looking for Elementary Teachers interested in earning a Master of Science in Education or an Education Specialist degree in the Elementary Mathematics Specialist program. This program focuses on math strategies to be used in the K-6 classroom while building content knowledge and leadership skills. Semester courses are online and require attending one Face-to-Face class once a month. Locations for these Face-to-Face classes vary and often are determined after enrollment. Past and current sites have included Warrensburg, Sedalia, Ray-Pec and Lee's Summit UCM Campus.
Teachers that already have a masters degree (of any focus) may be interested in this program to further their education and earn a Specialist Degree. This can be done with a few additional courses added to the program.
Teachers that complete this program are encouraged to take the Missouri Elementary Math Specialist Test to earn their certification as an Elementary Math Specialist.
Please share this information with other teachers across the state and contact Emily Combs if interested or have any questions.

Can you help tell our Cardinal story?
1-Our social media campaign, #WednesdayWhy, is receiving a lot of positive feedback from our community! Our stakeholders are enjoying hearing from staff members, students and parents about why they chose the CSD. We are currently looking for staff members to be featured during 2nd semester. If you are interested, all we need from you is your "why". You can provide it on this form.
2-We are also looking for staff members to be featured in our "Get to Know a Cardinal" features of our newsletters. If you are interested in being featured, please complete this form.
Get to know....Lesli Roberts
What do you do in the CSD?
I am a 2nd grade teacher at Henry Elementary.
Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from.
I have been teaching for 19 years, 10 of these in the Clinton School District. My Master’s degree is in Elementary Administration. My husband’s name is Josh. My son, Leo, is a freshman and my daughter, Sloan, is a 7th grader.
Best vacation you've been on.
My grandmother treated her entire family to a vacation in London, England. She took my mom & dad, my brother & sister-in-law, myself, Josh, my aunt, her 8 children & their spouses. We had an incredible time!
Favorite, can't-miss television show?
I wouldn’t say they are considered “can’t miss” shows, but I do watch:
*CNN
*Dr. Pimple Popper
*Anything Dystopian or Science Fiction
What are three things people would be surprised to know about you?
*I’ve completed a mini triathlon & 10K.
*I taught in a private, college preparatory school in Los Angeles for 6 years.
*I love Billie Eilish, classic alternative, & 90s hip hop. Yes, I’m that old, lol!
Something that is considered a luxury, but you don't know how you would live without?
Other than my phone, I would say my vacuum cleaner.
