Congratulations to Adrianna Camacho, winner of the Sun Lakes Rotary (SLRC) Club’s 2021 “Service above Self” Scholarship. Adrianna has a 4.4 GPA, has been in AVID for four years, and will attend ASU to study Nursing.

BAND NEWS AND AWARDS
Congratulations to the following CHS Band members who have received the highest obtainable nation-wide high school band awards:

-John Philip Sousa awards: Katarina Fenner and Jose Castro
The jazz ensemble finished off last week with a two-hour gig at West Alley BBQ. There was a good crowd and everybody had a great time.

SOFTBALL POST-SEASON AWARDS
Congratulations to Coach Slayton, Coach of the Year, and her team for the following All-CUSD and All-Premier Region recognition:
CHOIR CONCERT
CHS Choirs, directed by Mrs. Wendy Umbrianna, had their first and only choir concert this 2020-2021 school year, due to the pandemic. With a small family audience, choir was able to showcase the POPS CONCERT: "Destinations, See How They Shine!" Students produced this show- the costumes, logo, program, tech, media, and choreography. You will see solos, group songs, and dancing. Songs represented from 1940's to the current day. With a showcase this diverse, it's one not to miss. Check out the digital program. PARENT PRESENTATION TONIGHT
GRADUATION CEREMONY THIS THURSDAY
The District Office has informed us that we can now invite SIX guests/senior to attend the graduation ceremony. SIX latex free wrist bands will be issued to seniors to distribute to their guests. The latex free wrist bands MUST be worn to obtain access to the Austin Field bleachers and will be strictly enforced.
THIS WEEK’S FINAL EXAMS
Seniors completed final exams last week.
Juniors, sophomores, and freshmen will follow this schedule: Monday, May 24th and Tuesday, May 25th are review days. Follow the regular bell schedule for both days. 0 hour teachers will test on Thursday; students must be in class both days.
LOOKING FORWARD TO 2021-2022
Please look for the CHS Summer Newsletter to come out in early July.
CHS will have Modified Wolf Days July 13-16 on campus with access to computers and printers for students to get their schedule if they need to access technology. Schedules can otherwise be accessed from home or phone through the Infinite Campus portal. Info regarding days and times will be contained in the summer newsletter.
Next year’s freshmen are invited to CHS Freshman Orientation on Tuesday, July 20th, from 7:30am-11:00am. Counselors and admin will host Parent Orientation from 7:45am -8:45am in the Chandler Center for the Arts (adjacent to CHS on the corner of AZ Ave. and Chandler Blvd.)

SUMMER MEAL CURBSIDE SERVICE
This summer, Universal FREE curbside meals will continue at four sites: Chandler High School, Perry High School, Hamilton High School, and Casteel High School; 7:30-9:30am and 4:30-5:30pm, Mondays (exceptions due to holidays). The Pre-Order link for curbside is located here.
STATE FORTY EIGHT CHANDLER HIGH T-SHIRT
State Forty Eight, a company founded by CHS grads, has created a Chandler High t-shirt with $5 per purchase being donated back to the school. Shirts are available on their website.
MEDIA CENTER MATERIALS
Parents, please have your student(s) return any library books they have checked out, other than Lit books currently being used in classes, to the JSU/Media Center as soon as possible.
Library books, laptops, charging cords, and hotspots that are not being used for COA classes can all be returned to the JSU.

Seniors:
What college or university will you be attending?
All Final Transcripts will be sent electronically through Parchment. To guarantee your final transcript will be sent to the college of your choice, you must set up your account and place your transcript “On Hold for the Next Grading Period”. For information on how to sign up see Ms. Milczarek in the Career Center or Mrs. Graffeo or Mrs. Ferguson in the Registrar’s office. After graduation you will be charged $8.50 per transcript.
Graduation: May 27th. 8pm on Austin field. If you are not planning to walk with the class of 2021 you must let Mrs. Graffeo or Mrs. Ferguson in the Registrar’s office know as soon as possible.
