Wade King Elementary

November 2019

A Note from the Principal

Dear Wade King Families,

THANK YOU to everyone who has come to school in the past few days to engage in Student-Involved Conferences. I value the format of our conferences because it gives your children a chance to share their work and goals with their families. This is just one way we engage with families throughout the school year.

I am always looking for ways to strengthen the work that happens in our school. About two weeks ago, you received an email about our district-wide annual fall feedback questionnaire. This is an opportunity for you to give us feedback. If you have more than one child in attending a Bellingham Public School, you would fill out the survey for each child. For those of you who’ve already visited the survey link and answered the questions—thank you! We already have 35 responses, which represents about 9% of our student body. We’re hoping to get that number as close to 100% as possible.

If you haven’t yet had time, please consider taking 5-10 minutes to complete this survey by November 22nd. Here’s the link. Thank you in advance for your time!

Wade King Family Directory

Each year our PTA publishes a School Directory to make it easier for families to connect with one another. This year's Wade King Directory can be downloaded below. (The directory was also in a recent email to families). To maintain the privacy of Wade King families, please do not share this directory with people outside of our school community. Thank you!

Wade King Globe Trot Fundraiser - Total is $19,080

THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to our Globe Trot fundraiser! PTA will continue to collect donations in donation envelopes and online. You can turn in your donation envelopes to the school office.

Having reached our most recent Globe Trot Goal goal, all Wade King students enjoyed an extra recess yesterday. It was glorious day with sunshine, crisp fall air, and lots of fun outside activities!

Way to go WK Wolves!

Spare Pants/Clothes Needed

Has your child come home with a change of clothes? We are very low on supplies for students that need a change of clothes during the day. Sometimes its rain puddle, a wet slide, the soccer field, or a bathroom emergency - but whatever the need, we try to provide a dry change of clothes for students. Here is how you can help:

  • Send your child to school with their own changes of clothes in their backpack (especially if they are in a primary grade)
  • Donate elastic waist pants your kids have outgrown in sizes 6X-8 (boys and girls)
  • Donate new sweat pants when you find a good sale
  • Remember: underwear must be new and in the package. If your child comes home with a change of undies, they can keep them. Just wash the pants or leggings and send those back.
Thank you for helping us as we head into rain and mud season!
