Crisis Response & Debriefing Skills Training

This training combines Crisis Response and Debriefing Skills in a one-day session. A Crisis Response Team takes a leadership role in a school district when a crisis occurs on or off campus. The training includes an overview of the What, Why, When, and How of Crisis Response; Recruitment; Team Roles and Responsibilities; and Handling a Crisis. The Debriefing Skills part of the training includes an Explanation of the Debriefing process; and viewing and participating in a Debriefing Role play.

Following this training, a district, preferably consisting of two or more members, will have a plan in place and a protocol to follow that is consistent and coordinated in the event of a crisis.

Target Audience

Building Administrators, Central Office Administrators, Counselors, Student Assistance Personnel, Teachers, Administrative Assistants, Secretaries, Social Workers, Psychologists, and School Board Members
