The Scoop
Special Services Update - October 31, 2022
Communication, The Scoop & You!
Happy Halloween! We are headed into November ...
There may be a lot of information in the SCOOP that you are responsible for knowing. We want to limit all the separate group emails, so we condense most of our communication into this newletter for you and for easy reference to go back and find. Please be sure and read each edition of the Scoop carefully and let us know if you have any questions.
Have a great week!
~Keri

Clarification for 3 year old assessment
3 year olds, per their IEP will have their progress tracked per their goals (IEP) and/or the Brigance. In PEIMS, since they aren't taking Circles, it will show an error and they will be marked that their progress is monitored a different way per their IEP.
All 4 year olds, whether in ECSE or PKC will attempt to take the Circles assessment. Then they may fall in the green, yellow or red sections of the chart linked HERE
If ECSE teachers (LES and WES) need training on Circles, then they can reach out to their reading specialist or Anne Davis.

TIPS from your colleagues
- Team Titan communicates through Group Me. We stay in touch with each other, share pictures, funny sayings, positive praise, etc. We also participated in the Tomball Moves Step Challenge as a team. This is how we stay positive.
- When I complete an evaluation process (observed the student, formal testing, writing the evaluation), I turn on a favorite song of mine and do a celebratory dance.
- Use Google tasks to keep a running checklist of due dates, things to accomplish, etc. to stay organized. It allows me to never miss a deadline and I have access to it always from my phone, email, and calendar.
- Kelly Robles- Thanks to you for doing something extra for the EE Team. Your kindness and willingness is always appreciated.
- Diag and SLP set up a system/expectations checklist from the very start of the year. We were able to agree on being efficient and scanning items into Frontline ASAP. I pulled & scanned Home Language Surveys for all of my 3-year or special request Evaluation students known in addition to sending H/V Screening forms to the nurse (fill it out, place in her box, she completes & returns, then I scan them in).
- Rosmari has taught me many things already this school year to include processes, best practices, tips & tricks and even the implications, good and bad. She has been willing and able to answer all of my questions when needed despite how busy she is! Thank you Rosmari!
