Message From The Principal
Good afternoon,
We are eagerly counting down to the first day with students. This week, teachers returned to the building to begin readying classrooms for the arrival of your children. Next week is pre-service for teachers, and it is always filled with excitement and anticipation for the school year.
As we prepare for this coming year, we are mindful that all of our students (6th - 8th grade) have not had a full year in the building since elementary school. Because of this, our focus the first weeks of school will be to support your students' social and emotional needs. Teachers will focus on going over procedures and reviewing safety protocols with students. The goal will be to lessen student apprehension and concerns. In addition, we will focus lessons on student well-being that will help them navigate the middle school experience successfully.
I know you may have questions about policies and procedures regarding covid safety guidelines. Most of your questions can be answered by visiting the district’s Back to School page.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Go Jags!

Help at Tables

Please reach out to Atsuko (StollerPTOVol@gmail.com) if you have questions or are interested in volunteering but can't sign up because Stoller Middle School is not listed on your homepage when you log into your mVP account.

Per the governor's order, all volunteers will be required to show proof of vaccination to volunteer in a school. We're currently working on a process to facilitate that verification. More details to come.
Important News
Stoller Weekly is NOW the Stoller News!
In order to help reduce the amount of information you receive from Stoller and the district, we will be sending out this newsletter biweekly.
If throughout the year you know about a unique student achievement to highlight, please email SMS-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us
Student Schedules
Stoller student schedules will be viewable starting Friday evening. Once our school schedule goes live, IT starts rostering students in our learning applications to prepare for teachers returning on Monday, August 30th.
Please reinforce to your children that their schedules are not final until Wednesday, September 1st. This allows our counselors the time they need to review schedules and make changes, as necessary. We worked hard to ensure that our students received their top elective choices. Classes are full, and there is not a lot of flexibility for changes.
Chromebook Checkout
For those students who currently DO NOT have a BSD Chromebook and wish to use one for the 2021-2022 school year, please join us at the Ice Cream Social to receive your device. We will be checking out devices near the upper forum doors on 9/1 & 9/2 from 5-7PM.
If you cannot make the event, we will be distributing again after school starts. More details TBD.
School Supplies
Please use this link for a list of general items you can purchase for your students. Please expect a more specific list from your students teachers the first few days of classes. Thank you.
Medication Drop Off
Parents are welcome to drop off student medication on Thursday, September 2nd and Friday, September 3rd at the main office between 9am and 4pm.
Home is the best place for your child to receive medication. If possible, spacing of medication dosages should be arranged to allow for home administration. The Beaverton School District follows State guidelines for medication administration, when home administration is not possible. Medications must be updated each school year.
Please review the BSD Medication Information for Parents. A completed Medication Authorization form must accompany ALL medications.
Enrollment Verification
Parents/guardians should have received Enrollment Verication emails to confirm enrollment at Stoller and to update student information, including emergency contacts. Please review your student's information carefully and complete the verification prior to the first day of school.
Click here for a how to guide and instructional video. Our Registrar returns on August 16th and will be available to assist you after that time.

Travel and Returning To School
Questions have been raised regarding rules around traveling and quarantining before returning to school. Please review CDC guidance for domestic travel and international travel.
If you have questions please email Stoller at SMS-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us
Mask Guidance
Governor Kate Brown has instructed all Oregon school districts to require masks indoors in all K-12 schools for staff, students and visitors, regardless of whether they’re vaccinated or not; the mask mandate includes our Pre-K students. Similar to last year, students with documented medical issues that prevent mask wearing may be exempt. Please email the office SMS-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us for more information.
"Mask" and “face covering” are now used interchangeably in ODE and OHA guidance. A “mask” or “face covering” means a cloth, polypropylene, paper or other face covering that covers the nose and the mouth and that rests snugly above the nose, below the mouth, and on the sides of the face. Face coverings must be worn at all times when indoors unless eating, drinking, or playing an instrument and while on school busses. OHA guidelines state face coverings are currently optional while outdoors.
Please visit click this link "Back To School Information" for more BSD masking guidance.
