Stevie Wonder was born May 13, 1950 as Stevie Hardaway Morris in Saginaw, Michigan, blind, from receiving too much oxygen. his music career began when Stevie joined a church choir in Detroit, his family had moved there when he was only four years old. Stevie Wonder married Tomeeka Robyn Bracy in 1970. They soon had a baby girl and named her Aisha, Stevie wrote a song for her called "Isn't she Lovely".
The First Album
Stevie's first album, "Little Stevie Wonder the 12 Year old Genius", was first aired in September 1962 and included these 7 songs: Fingertips, Soul Bongo, La La La La La, (I'm Afraid) The Masquerade is Over, Hallelujah I Love Her so, Drown in My own Tears, and last but not least, Don't You Know. These songs were all written by Stevie Wonder when he was only 12 years old (That's where the album got it's name).
The Tragedy
Stevie Wonder was doing great in his music, until a tragic incident happened. August 6th 1973, Stevie Wonder was going 85 miles per hour on the interstate, after a performance. When all of a sudden Stevie crashed into the back of the truck. The bed of the truck fell off and shattered Stevie's windshield, and hit him right in the head. Stevie suffered from a coma.
