The $30 deposit is due for the Kalahari Trip on March 1. Once the deposit is made, students will be able to choose who they room with. Information for the Kalahari trip is below.

Columbia Central Car Decals are on sale now!!

Decals for every sport are available for purchase by February 28. The cost is $5 and the forms are located in the office. The proceeds will help support the Columbia Central Student Senate.

Saturday School will be offered on the following dates for the remainder of the school year:

All sessions will be held from 8 AM-12 PM in the CCHS Library. These sessions provide students an opportunity to make up school work from any type of absence in a quiet work environment. There will be a staff member available to assist students.

Congratulations to the Freshman! They will be attending a Tigers game on May 9th. All Freshman were provided information regarding the trip to take home. The details are below:

  • Time-Leave from CCHS-10 AM and return at 7 PM
  • Where-Comerica Park, Detroit, MI



Students will need to pay an $11 deposit by March 25 to secure their spot on the trip. THE $11 WILL BE REFUNDED to them on the day of the trip.

Excellent Opportunity for Females 14 and 15 year old and Interested in Law Enforcement..

Michigan State Police are looking for 20 young women from Jackson County to participate

in this year's Michigan State Police Youth Leadership Academy.


The goal is to partner 14 and 15-year-old females with mentors from local law enforcement agencies to help them learn leadership and mentor skills, while developing their personal character.

Prom Tickets are ON SALE NOW!

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Prom will be taking place on Saturday, April 27th at Adrian College- Tobias Center from 8-11 PM. The theme is Masquerade. Tickets will be on sale starting Monday, February 25th during A and B lunches or before/after school. Tickets will start at $25.00 dollars per ticket. After spring break tickets will increase by $10.00 dollars each week so get your tickets now!!

Athletic Update

Our Boys Bowling Team finished 2nd in the LCAA Conference. Both teams are competing in the Regional finals today! Best of luck to them!


Our wrestling team had many accomplishments this season. Mercaydeez Scott earned a TOP finish in the first Girls MHSAA Wrestling Meet. In addition, Theo Crouse is competing in the MHSAA Individual Wrestling Meet. Great work to our entire team!


Boys Basketball finished with a winning season of 8-6! District play begins next week. Congratulations on your hard work!

Junior High News!

February 8th, our 8th-grade students traveled to the Jackson Area Career Center to explore different careers that may be of interest to them. Everyone seemed excited about the opportunity when they returned.


February 9th our students had their second dance of the year. All in attendance had a great time and looked great!


March 1st we will welcome a speaker to talk about the dangers of vaping with our students. A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Guernsey for setting this up!

Meet Mr. Politiwicz

Mr. Politiwicz teaches 8th Grade Science and Zoology at Columbia Central Junior High! In addition, he volunteered as the assistant coach on the varsity volleyball team last Fall! He is a graduate from Adrian College where he played both volleyball and hockey. In his free time, Mr. Politiwicz enjoys running outdoors, exercising ad playing hockey. He attends school events and enjoys supporting his students. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Politiwicz to the Columbia School District.
