The Colorful Fun Run is November 1st!!

Principals Message

We have two fun events coming up this week. Halloween is on Thursday and our kids CAN dress up. However, they do need to stay within the dress code. No hats, no hoods, no masks. Nothing gory or offensive. Have fun but keep it clean.

Friday is our COLORFUL FUN RUN. This is our BIG fundraiser of the year. Directions to donate online are below. All students who donate at least $5 will participate. :) Currently not all of the SEL teachers are listed on Pledgestar. We're working on that adjustment but have to wait for Pledgestar to fix it for us. We'll send out a notice when it's fixed.

Yearly in the fall we collect information from parents in an effort to create our Consolidated School Improvement Plan. Please consider giving us feedback by CLICKING HERE.

Hi Shamrocks! Our Colorful Fun Run is THIS WEEK!! But this also means
it's the last week to register and make pledges! We are just shy of
$2,000 in pledges at this point, but our goal is $15,000! Some SEL
teachers are still not showing up in Pledgestar (and we are very sorry
about this!). Please just register under another teacher and we will
get it straightened out later. Your pledges will still count and you
will still get your prizes - we promise! Thank you! Let's ROCK THIS
RUN!! Sign up at:

Parents, we're still in need of volunteers for the Colorfun Fun Run on
Friday, November 1st. Who wants to shower the kiddos in silly string
and help us give them a fun afternoon, all while helping Ballyshannon
raise funds to help our students and teachers?? Sign up at: and
thank you for supporting your Shamrocks!

What is a colorful fun run?

A) Time to get outdoors during the day with our friends and have a great time.

B) A way to raise money for our school AND have fun at the same time.

C) A safer way to have a color run. No powder this time...but we have a colorful surprise.

D) A way to earn some great incentives.

E) All of the above

The answer is E! All of the above. Check out the attachments below for donation sheets, incentive lists, and information.

We do allow our kids to dress up on Halloween in costume. That said, they do need to stay in dress code and the costumes cannot be gory, too provocative, advertise items that middle school students should not consume, etc. If your child has an idea for a costume and you think it might be a problem, have them come see me (Bowles). We'll chat about the appropriateness of their idea for the school setting and in most cases can make a few minor adjustments to allow them to express their creativity within the confines of the dress code.

Please, please, please. Please. Keep the candy at home this year. Last year on November 1st I thought we opened our own candy factory at school. It was like "locker trick or treat day". Not this year. I especially need you to keep all of the peanut and peanut butter candy out of the school. Thanks so much!
