Evergreen Midewest Co
Serving the compressed gas industry since 1978
Facilitating compressed gas industry with valves, cylinders & more
Evergreenmidwest is a leading provider of valves, cylinders, regulators and more to facilitate the process of compressed gas industry and welding too. The company was founded by an entrepreneur Joseph Cregan Sr.'s, who evolved the compress gas industry completely and laid down the fundamental guidelines on which the company is constantly innovating and progressing rapidly.
Gas Cylinder Valves
Regulator
Evergreen carries a complete line of regulators to serve the needs of the high pressure gas and cryognic industries. Our line of regulators covers needs from beer tap regulators made by Taprite Products to cryogenic regulators manufactured by Rego Cryoflow Products. Take a minute to visit the links below.

Store gases in Industrial Gas Cylinder with supreme safety
Industrial Gas Cylinder is used to store various gases for many applications and processes. These cylinders mainly store gases at very high pressures which are contained in the cylinders that vary from highly flammable (acetylene) to highly inert (helium). This is well handled properly in these gas cylinders which are safe. However, if not handled properly then same cylinders may pose threat to equipment and workers. To safeguard property damage and injury, gas cylinder may be handled, stored, used and upheld properly.
Common industrial gas cylinder Hazards
Explosion:
Industrial cylinders having intense internal pressure can explode when showing certain damage from extreme heat and exposure, vibration, electric currents, strong chemicals, corrosion or anything which cause failure or weakness in each cylinder.
Crushing:
Cylinders are awkward and heavy to handle. Some important procedures must be ensured when transporting, using and storing industrial gas such that they won’t tip or fall over which may cause injury. The stored pressure is inside the cylinder which may propel a cylinder like the rocket if it can escape the uncontrolled rate. (e.g- cylinder valve punctured or broken).
Fire:
Cylinder valves may leak which cause the contents lead to discharge. The flammable gas can accumulate in the areas which cause explosion and fire. To reduce the hazards from leakage, you can store the industrial gas cylinders in ventilated area.
Gas Inhalation:
Hazardous and inert gases can cause health hazards if not used and stored properly. Gases like CO2 can displace the oxygen of the area which may lead to inflation problems. Toxic and harmful gases can be used when appropriate or suitable with engineering controls which can protect workers. The gases may be stored when not used in ventilated area. It may prevent accumulation of harmful gases.
Industries & Use ofIndustrial Gas Cylinder
Acetylene –used for oxy-acetylene flames to cut the mild steel for welding purposes
Oxygen –Industrial oxygen is used for oxy-acetylene flames for welding and cutting. The medical oxygen is used for respiration process.
Argon –Industrial Argon gas is used mainly for applications like steel making, welding, electronics manufacturing and heat treating.
Nitrogen – Compressed nitrogen is used as purge gas in many industries for achieving toxic or oxygen free area for safe maintenance and repair.
Carbon dioxide –Used in oil, chemical and food industry which is used for several consumer products which require pressurized gas. This is used for inflation in life jackets. CO2 is used as fire extinguishers which work well on less flammable liquid that is used for welding gas.
SAFE STORAGE
Industrial Gas Cylinder must be well stored in upright position which is properly secured with a strap, cable and chain. It is above the midpoint which is below the cylinder shoulder. It has stationary support to proper cylinder cart which prevents from falling or tipping.
Cylinders must be well capped when not fixed to the system.
Keep cylinders in dry and ventilated area, at least 20 feet distant from combustible materials
Cylinders should not be contained in lockers. The valve leakage may cause dangerous explosive to burst inside the locker which may turn disastrous.
