Inspire Award

You can say thank you to a teacher who has impacted you or your
child by nominating him/her for the Inspire Award. This award
aims to recognize teachers who go above and beyond in the
classroom. Parents, students, pre-service teachers, or classroom
volunteers may submit nominations.

The Inspire Award allows the School Board and community to
regularly and publicly celebrate the impact that RCPS teachers make
each day, whether on a particular child or class, or by encouraging a
future teacher.

A teacher may be recognized once during a school year and
submissions must be received ten days prior to a board meeting.
The person making the nomination will be invited to share his/her
nomination essay of up to 200 words with the school board, and will
make the presentation of a certificate to the honored teacher.

The nomination form can be found on the RCPS website under “Parents”.

MVES Title I

"MVES Title I is thrilled to have John Gardner, published children's book author/illustrator, zoom with our students on February 23rd! (Class A will be able to enjoy his recorded zoom when they return to school on February 25th.)

Coming home very soon will be mini-garden kits, complete with instructions, decorations, containers, soil, and garden seeds! For your safety, all envelopes have been sealed with water and all cartons have been quarantined the required amount of time.

MVES Title I hopes that the promise and curiosity of sprouting plants may bring your family joy as this winter season nears its end and turns into spring! We hope that you will share your sprouted plants with us as they continue to grow and mature. (You can tag us on Facebook or upload a photo to your class' Seesaw!)

We will also be giving away books, written by John Churchman and Jennifer Churchman as well as other popular reads, and additional seeds with compostable pots!

Here we GROW!"

Pictures For The Yearbook

Parents and guardians-

The time to begin putting the yearbook together is fast approaching! I have two requests.

1. If your child missed picture day for any reason and they are completely virtual, please email ( me a picture of them- a close up shot from the shoulders up. If they are in person, I can grab a picture of them myself.

2. If your child is virtual or in the hybrid model, please feel free to use the following link to upload photos of your child doing school at home! These could be photos of your child reading, doing projects, participating in the spirit days, etc.

Thank you for your participation!

Laura Wheeler
