April 18, 2022

4th Quarter begins April 19th

We hope everyone had a great spring break! There are 10 weeks left in the school year and there are a lot of fun activities planned for students to look forward to. We recognize that our students have missed out on a lot of exciting experiences over the past 2 years so we put a lot of effort into figuring out ways to give each grade level their own end of year trip. See below for the details! The 5 week marking period ends on May 13th. NYS Math Exam is next week and students will take their final iReady benchmark assessment in ELA and Math in mid May. Lastly, tomorrow is the deadline to submit a video for The Foundation for Beacon Schools' Film Festival! Visit https://www.foundationforbeaconschools.org/film-festival for more info!

Earth Month Challenge!!

The RMS Environmental Club needs your help in participating in the USagain Earth Month Contest. From April 1 through May 1 students, parents, faculty and community are encouraged to drop off gently used clothing and other textiles to our collection bin. At the end of the contest (May 1, 2022), the three schools which collect the most textiles and clothing per student will be ranked and awarded cash prizes. All the proceeds from this contest will benefit the Environmental Club and be used towards our school garden. Last year, the club came in 4th place out of all the schools in the nation! This year, they have their eye on #1!! Only items placed in OUR bin (not high school) count towards our contest efforts.

Art Club Ukraine Fundraiser

The Art Club pop-up shop fundraiser was huge success! Last week the club raised $118.00 by selling handmade items and original artwork during lunch periods. The proceeds will be donated to the UN refugee foundation to support those affected by the war in Ukraine. Great to see our students be inspired by current events and take action! Great job Art Club!
