In addition, we are thrilled to bring the exhibit "Hidden in Plain Sight" back to Mt. Hope! This is an interactive presentation that allows adults to explore a teenager's mock bedroom. Please see the attached flyer below (page 2) for more details! The exhibit will open at 5:30 PM!
2. MHHS Extra Curricular Clubs & Activities Sign Up Information
The 2019-20 MHHS Clubs & Activities Information was sent to students last week. As you know, students who are connected and involved in school are more likely to be successful in school and beyond!
Please review the attached brochure with descriptions of Mt. Hope's clubs and Activities. Students were asked to complete the attached Google Form to sign up for those they are interested in! If you have any questions related to the club/activity, please reach out directly to the advisor (listed in the brochure).

3. Freshmen Field Day!
This Friday, 9/20 from 12:15 - 2:40 all 9th grade students will participate in a Freshmen Field Day! The focus of the Field Day is team building, collaboration, and building a sense of belonging and conectedness within the Mt. Hope Community. As we know, transition to high school is often challenging for students. This event is another way to ease the transition, and build relationships with teachers and peers!
Special thanks to Peter Kells who has planned and organized the event which has activities led by upper classmen, such as Sidewalk Chalk Dreamboard, Freshmen Face Paint (our first home football game is that night!), Tug of War, Just Dance, hula hoop race and much more!
4. Start with Hello!
Mt. Hope High School is joining thousands of schools across the US participating in Start with Hello week.
Start with Hello is a prevention program that teaches children and teens how to be more socially inclusive and connected to each other. Start With Hello asks students, educators, parents and other community leaders who interact with children to take steps in class, the lunchroom and/or other times in their day to be inclusive and connected.
Mt. Hope Students are planning various activities for Start with Hello week, beginning 9/23! Stay tuned! Please see the Start with Hello Parent Brochure attached or check out the website at https://www.sandyhookpromise.org/startwithhelloweek
