PRAYER

Dear God:

Spring is a metaphor for change. Some changes we eagerly await, and some we abhor. Some changes we plan and others arrive uninvited. To all these changes we ask the gift of Your perspective beckoning us to expectation, hope, and rebirth.

May the sunlight and the rain be reminders that You are at work renewing the earth. As a God of renewal, You are ever at work in our lives, too.

Open our eyes and lives to the needed changes in our lives this Spring. Awaken us to new life and perspective, for we pray in Jesus' name.

Amen.

Principal for the Day

Today, Miss Lefeber is our Principal for the Day. She is learning about what the principal all does and participating in different events throughout the day. She greeted students in the morning and is giving the students an extra recess this afternoon!

Great Job Miss Lefeber!

Social Fest 2021

The Social Fest team has begun planning our event for this year. Due to COVID timing and other implications, along with input from the surveys, we have decided to have an event that is very similar to last year. The key challenge however, is lack of support from our school families. Revenue from Social Fest has direct implications on tuition rates and quality of the education for Holy Trinity School. The last several events have generated over $40,000. Based on current enrollment at our school, that’s an impact of over $300 per student each year.

Due to lack of volunteers for this event, we are in jeopardy of not being able to run our event this year, and beyond. Note that volunteering can be accomplished in many ways, without requiring attendance the day of the event. It can include organizing volunteers, donation recruitment, ticket and raffle support, setup the week before, cleanup the day after, etc. Volunteering the day of the event can include setup on that day, or participating in 2-hour sessions that night for support of the food line, bartending, silent auction, clean-up, etc.

We have worked to minimize the number of fundraisers throughout the year, and we run fewer fundraisers than many of the schools in the area. We thank those parents who are contributing, and we thank the leaders of the Social Fest team, many who are alumni or past parents of Holy Trinity children, but who no longer have children in our school. However, WE NEED YOUR HELP TO SUPPORT OUR EVENT THIS YEAR, TO SUPPORT YOUR SCHOOL

We ask that you attend the next Social Fest planning meeting, Thursday June 3rd at 6:00 in the Gathering Space on the lower level of the church.

Please get involved.

A NOTE FROM Mrs. Longden

We have eight more very exciting days here at school. There are many activities in those days. All of our classes are enjoying their end of the year activities. We have our Spring Concert, All School Rosary, Field Day, Holy Hill Field Trip, and 8th Grade and 5K Graduation to look forward to.

It is quite amazing that the 2020-2021school year has gone by so quickly and that we are finishing so nicely. As a staff we feel that our students really have grown leaps and bounds by being in their seats and in person. Although difficult at times to navigate all of the rules, we believe that our educational standards and goals have been met or will be met by the end of May.

We work to develop the body, mind and souls of our students. We are seeing studious kids who are even more appreciative of some of the little things that they took for granted in past years. We see kids who are participating in their faith development and we are fostering the growth of their souls as a priority for our wonderful Catholic school.

During the summer, I highly encourage the adults in our school commuity to plan and participate in any social event that brings our people together. A full year has passed with little to no interaction of the adults. This is what made Holy Trinity special and unique in past years – that feeling of school family! Let’s all work to bring that aspect back to our school for the year ahead.

Blessings,

Mrs. Longden
