Anguilla is one of the seven known member islands of the Anguilla Islands which is situated in the Southern Caribbean Sea. The Anguilla Islands' total land mass is made up of five islands: Bonaire, Antigua Barbados, Fortuna and Gran Canaria. The population is approximately nine million, which is forty-two percent of Anguilla's total population. Most of the people living in Anguilla are British nationals who emigrated in the early part of the last century and settled in the region.

It is easy to obtain an Anguilla travel registration. The process involves filling in an application form which can be obtained from the offices of the Ministry of Immigration and Federal Trade Commission. To prove his identity, if the applicant is not a British citizen, he must also provide his birth certificate. It is also necessary for an Anguilla visitor visa application to contain a copy of his plane ticket as well as his passport when traveling outside the country. The processing time for these applications varies and thus it is advised that one requests for an application well in advance of his planned travel.

Once the application has been submitted to the concerned authorities, it should be reviewed and if approved the applicant will receive a copy of his visa grant. For applications submitted via email, the processing time is ninety days. For applications submitted by fax, it takes three years. If the applicant wants to apply for a visa that is granted on the basis of his own document rather than by one of the other existing categories, then he must apply for a "Singapore Single Entry" visa. The type of visa grant that is obtained by applying through the "Singapore Single Entry" or "Singapore Multiple Entry" is a privilege which is valid for one year and is renewable every year. This privilege can be used to visit Singapore for no less than six months. This basically means that a person may be granted a visa for a stay which lasts more than one year if the need is there. For the purpose of these two categories, a valid passport is also necessary. For further assistance, it is a good idea to contact the nearest embassy or consulate.

This is done if the applicant fails to get a visa due to any of the reasons listed above or for any other reason. The card holder is allowed to stay in Anguilla for a period of fourteen years, provided he has never applied or registered for an indefinite visa. The card contains all the relevant information of the card holder like his name, title, birth date, photograph and his signature. The validity of the card remains throughout his life and no additional copies may be produced unless special permission is granted by the Registry of deeds.
