THE RED RIVER CAMPAIGN STARTED DURING THE CIVIL WAR IN MARCH 1864 AND ENDED IN MAY 1864.AFTER AN NATIVE AMERICAN UPRISING AND ATTACK ON ADOBE WALLS;GENERAL ULYSSES S. GRANT PUT STATIONED A ARMY IN CHARGE OF NATIVE AMERICANS.AS A RESULT,NATIVE AMERICANS HAD TO REGISTER AT RESERVATONS ALTHOUGH MOST DID ABOUT 4,000 DID NOT.WHICH RESULTED IN 1,200 WARRIORS PREPARING FOR DEFENDING THEIR LAND.BUT,THE AN ARMY OF 3,000 MOVED IN FROM FIVE DIRECTIONS ON THE NATIVE AMERICANS.THE TEXAS RANGERS ALSON FOUGHT IN THE WEST UNDER MAJOR JOHN B. JONES TO HELP PUT AN END TO TO THE UPRISING.

WHY IT WAS IMPORTANT

IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR ANGLOS AND OTHER PEOPLE BECAUSE IT GAVE THEM MORE LAND.ALSO,GAVE THEM SENSE OF PROTECTION FROM THE NATIVE AMERICANS.
