Caring
Do you know a child who cares about others? Does the child consistently do kind acts or make thoughtful gestures? Then, consider nominating them for this month's Boomerang Youth Recognition Award.
Health Office Screenings
Every year, your child is measured for height and weight as mandated by the Pennsylvania School Health program. Height, weight, age and gender were used to determine his/her Body Mass Index (BMI) and percentile. Your child’s results are available on the Parent Portal. If you do not have access to a computer and would like a paper copy sent home, please call the nurse’s office with this request
In addition, all students have been screened for vision. A referral form was sent home if your child did not pass.
Thank you,
Michelle Musich
Attention Parents of 2nd, 5th, and 6th Grade Students
Let's get ready for the 2020-2021 school year!
Do you have a student in 2nd, 5th, and 6th grade? The state of Pennsylvania mandates health exams for the following grades:
- Grade 3 Dental Exam
- Grade 6 Physical Exam
- Grade 7 Dental Exam
Look for the health forms to come home with your child. Note: all medical records are due October 15th, 2020 . Please remember to schedule these exams in order to meet the Oct 15th deadline, and keep a copy of the forms for your records. Thank you!
A Note from the Health Office
If a child has symptoms of illness present, he/she should remain home in order that other children do not become infected. As a rule of thumb, a child should be without a fever for 24 hours, without medication, before returning to school.
Please be mindful that if the student is ill and comes to school, the student could infect other students in the school. Also, your child could contract another illness because of a stressed immune system. In addition to communicable diseases, Central Bucks reserves the right to exclude students for the following reasons:
-Illness that prevents a student from participating in activities
-Fever (100.4 or higher). Students may not return to school until free of fever without medication for 24 hours.
-Diarrhea or vomiting during the previous 24 hours. Student may not return to school until appetite returns to normal
-Rash with a fever
-Other conditions deemed appropriate after assessment by the school nurse
Please call the nurse at 267-893-4360 if you have any questions.
Thank you, Mrs. Musich
