The Cavalier Contact
Volume 4 - Issue 19 - January 29, 2023
A Message from the Principal
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I wanted to highlight how the CHS Chick-fil-a Leader Academy collected almost 1,000 items for New Vessel Outreach, a local Caroline County charity organization. Our students did an awesome job organizing and executing the fundraiser all on their own! The students are pictured above.
This issue of the Cavalier Contact contains information on course requests for the 23.24 School Year, even more scholarships, field trips, internships, school procedures, athletics, and more.
Thank you for helping us reach our goal for every CAV to develop Confidence in their abilities, to be Accountable for their learning and success, and to build a Vision for what they want to achieve before and after graduation. If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to contact me at jjust@ccps.us or by calling (804)633-9886 ext 5113.
Sincerely,
Mr. Joshua Just

Attendance
CCPS values your child’s attendance at school. The state of Virginia defines chronic absenteeism and it is reinforced in our Code of Conduct. Students being absent from school, excused or unexcused, for 10 or more days are considered chronically absent. We need your help! Please monitor your child’s attendance and help them obtain a high quality education amongst their peers in school. Last year, our school’s absenteeism rate was 30%. As we aim to meet the state accreditation standards we will need to decrease the number of absences significantly. Thank you for your partnership in your child’s education.
