Principal's Note

Welcome to 2020! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break. I saw so many smiling faces last week on students' faces as they came back to school.

I know many of you were disappointed that the PTA Winter Dance was canceled due to the inclement weather on Friday. If they are able to reschedule, we will notify you via email or flyer.

Remember, on Monday, January 20th there is no school for students or staff.

Transportation SMART Tags

Beginning the afternoon of Wednesday, January 15, the transportation department is requiring the use of of SMART tags for all bus riders. Students will badge on and off the bus using transportation provided tags attached to their backpacks. If your student stays with a grandparent or a licensed daycare provider after school and uses an afternoon bus stop that is not their home bus stop, please notify the front office so that we may notify Transportation to add that stop to your student's allowed stops. Licensed daycare provider and grandparents' addresses in our attendance zone are the only allowed stops a child may get off on other than their home address per district policy. Transportation will send a detailed email regarding the use of SMART Tags and accessing the Parent Portal soon.

Meet Our Staff - Cindy Rabago

Mrs. Rabago, our TAG teacher, has been teaching at Live Oak for 15 years and has been with RRISD for 21 years. Seeing the children that she has taught over the years grow up to be successful adults has been her biggest achievement of being a teacher. She has 3 grown daughters, 3 granddaughters, and 3 dogs. Her husband is Hawaiian so they travel to Hawaii every summer to visit relatives. Her passion is gardening and working in her backyard. She would like to tell her elementary self to: "Love my teachers!".

Students can check these devices out for two weeks at a time and are able to renew their checkout for longer, depending on demand. If you would like for your student to have the ability to check out a Chromebook, please print, fill out this form and return it to the library. For additional questions, or to request a paper copy of the form sent home, please contact our Instructional Technology Specialist, Jesse Sosa at 512. 428.3811.
